I had a pretty great weekend...the weather warmed up and melted a lot of snow, the one-sided parking is back to two, again, and I got the heck outta Dodge...off to my hometown of Rogers where my brother lives in the house in which we grew up.
We have a project where he wants to unload some equipment he's accumulated. I told him to give me the make and model, a pic and text it to me, I can research it and work out a decent price "or best offer".
Some of his offerings...

v
He had is hands full of his own work, so I didn't stay too long...I also picked up the things I had sent out there...a whole boxful over 6 months...more on that in the appropriate thread "(...new equipment...")...sorry, no cheap Christmas trees...
That was Friday...Saturday and Sunday were a few local stores...to be continued...

Dasher's weekend, Pt. 2...
Saturday, as I had gotten 2 Pioneer headshells w/Philips 400 on one, the cart needed a new stylus...off to Needle Doctor, not more than 7 miles from home... SADLY, I didn't think of taking pictures of the place #-o (I PROMISE to do that on my next trip  ).
There was this adorable 14 yr old Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Malibu wandering the store...the Dasher family has 3 Cardigan Welsh Corgis and 2 German Shepherds, so she caught my eye right away.
They didn't have the stylus I needed (they're downsizing the vintage things, it's really more upscale hifi equipment,. I did get two more rounds of tonearm wire for the Infamous BIC and having a spare, a couple cart mounting hardware packages, and the Audioquest record brush. I hear it's pretty good. Sorry about pics...go to the website, if you haven't already
Like I said, I totally spaced out doing the record adventure thing... Sunday was the BIG adventure!
More on that, WITH pics. Stay tuned...(don'tcha hate that? AW, DASHER!... I know...baaad Dasher... again)

Looking great so far, Dasher! Now THAT'S what I'm talkin' about!! =D>

By the way, if I were you, that Pioneer 770 might be calling my name...I had a similar run in at my local Vintage Expo with this blackface receiver, it's younger brother, the 440...

43800
43801

Of course, I ended up with this fine Scott instead...

43884

Still, if the Scott hadn't caught my eye, that Pioneer was next in the running...Something to think about anyway...

In any case, I can't wait to see more of your local adventures...It's fun to see everyone's favorite hangouts, so keep 'em coming!! 8)

To speak for myself and a few more, I'm sure, yeah, that article goes here for all of us "can't seem to fill the 'voidians'"! Great piece! This could start a spin-off (no pun intended) thread, "have you ever seen an old cast-off record in a store, and did it go home with you?"...or is there? Haven't looked, haven't seen...sounds like fun, tho. Thanks, "zep/floyd"!
