Here is my 1019.
I really like the heavy platter and heavy duty motor on this model plus it is really well built.
This was a bit like a pound rescue since when I got it, it did need a little bit of work plus it was missing a few parts. On the plus side nobody had really messed with it and messed it up in the process! #-o

I love that 1019, Tink...I must really love these decks, since I have two 1009's, an SK and an F, and a wonderful 1019, provided to me, courtesy of member Austen (ftl-wagen)! A very hearty "Danke Schoen" to him, for sure! =D>

They were all projects from the start, but they've been labors of love, along with my 1226...And, you know, I must really love these Duals to have bought them in the first place...They were all good deals, though, that I couldn't refuse, and I knew they were quality, well-built machines...Nothing like fine German engineering, I say...And they are fabulous-looking turntables, too!

Re: Dual 1009/ 1015/ 1019 Appreciation Thread
Another Dual lover here! My 1009 is my 4speed wonder table. It tracks well on almost any disc I have thrown at it, including some curly cardstock discs. I use it regularly for 78's, stacking singles now that I have the right spindle and any microgroove mono or stereo disc that doesn't sound right or pleasing on my AT440mlb on my Technics. I have the original version with the big arm and early sled. I would go after a 1019 for the antiskating, but I prefer the early sled and the feel of 1960's table that I rarely fumble with due to my fat fingers. The only thing missing is a working LP auto spindle so I can play classical/opera/talking book sets in drop sequence. I can't even fathom what an equivalent turntable to this would cost today. I feel truly lucky to have found one so cheap. It was $30 Canadian and he delivered it to me as well. It was fully functioning with manual spindle and sled. I bought the 45 auto spindle and installed my Stanton 500 cartridge on it. If anyone has any 500's laying around to sell cheap, I am interested. I want to mount one on another sled for 78's and two for my Technics DJ tables so I don't need to unmount it when I volunteer my music locally or swap out styli for coarse grooves.

Re: Dual 1009/ 1015/ 1019 Appreciation Thread
This is the Dual 1015F which comes from the same line of turntables and is sandwiched in between the 1009 an 1019. The "F" is actually shown on the black line below the 1015.
One noticeable feature of this model is the unique counterweight which is different from that used on the other models.
-3 speeds with pitch adjustment.
-anti skating and adjustable stylus force.
-automatic or manual settings with cueing.

Re: Dual 1009/ 1015/ 1019 Appreciation Thread
This was my 2nd 1019, and it was one I wasn't going to keep as I purchased it for the Stanton 881S MKII that was on it. After playing with it, I decided to keep it and tried my hand at restoring it. It wasn't easy and I was ready to give up, but thanks to a few on here, decided to continue playing with it.
It's funny now as it was more a labor of F-U you're not getting the better of me.
It started with the auto return not working properly, the head shell being in shambles, and after my initial toying with, got worse to the point it wouldn't even turn on. So I took a good week or two away from it then decided to give it another go.
So on my second attempt, I got it working in manual mode only, then finally working fully. But then I had an issue with static which I found out was the bearings in the arm, so I cleaned that out, cleaned out the VTF knob and anti skate. Those are now dead on accurate as well as my pitch control.
It now also sports a working multi play spindle and an aftermarket oversized plinth. The only thing it needs to have finished off is the cover which Im trying to buff and if it doesn't work out with that will have a custom high hat cover built for the spindle to stay on.
This table is now going to be used as my "party table", holiday music as well as KTEL and other Dance/Disco/Freestytle music. It has the Stanton 881S MKII on it right now, but will most likely get one of my 2 Pickering XLZ-7500S MKII's on it once they come back from being cleaned.
Glad I decided to keep the table after all.

That really is a fantastic-looking table, jfrace! And a beautiful plinth, to boot! I'm glad you decided to keep it, too...You really have to be a Dual owner to understand the power of a Dual...And I'm glad you were persistent with it, and didn't give up! Now you know what a real labor of love is! You may have thought you knew before, but until you own a Dual (or four, like me), you can never really understand what it's like to be patient with a project...But, that's just my two cents on the subject...

My woodworking buddy made me a plinth for mine.
I've had a Dual 1009SK or a 1015F in it at times.
But I hate those darn Dual headshells!

That's why you need to have more than one, ginnie! :wink:ginniegatrit wrote:https://i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb1 ... buhgee.jpg

The more of them that you have, the more cartridges you can alternate between your Duals...And even if you can't find original headshells, like I have, there are still the Pat Leaver versions...If you like to play with different cartridges, say a Shure, a Pickering, or a 78' cartridge, having a few extra headshells around can come in handy...

Some really beautiful turntables and plinths guys! 8)
They are a real labor of love. It's nice to see that there are some who still care enough about these little gems to give them the love and attention they deserve. =D>

Re: Dual 1009/ 1015/ 1019 Appreciation Thread
Hello !
Could someone help me ?
I have a beautifull Dual 1010 turntable mounted in a Schaub Laurenz preamp but the power is dead.
I checked and the secondary circuit is down :(
I am trying to find what is the appropriate voltage outage for the secondary circuit...one outage is used to light the power lamp and the other gives power to the amplification system of loudspeakers.
I hope you understand my question...just in case, here is the photo of the power unit.
thanks a lot for your help

Re: Dual 1009/ 1015/ 1019 Appreciation Thread
My 1019 now sports a Denon DL-300 MC cartridge going through an RCA custom built SUT. The cartridge was also upgraded with a better cantilever and linear trace diamond. I added on the angled cartridge shim and voila !
WHO SAYS YOU CAN'T USE A 1019 WITH MOVING COIL ?!?!?!?
