arm curved in a Dual 1229 - help

The arm of this Dual 1229 is curved (blent) after transport.
I would like to save it!
is it difficult to disassemble a Dual arm?
is it possible to separate only the tube from everything else?
Any other suggestions to straighten the arm without disassembling it?
THANKS

I would take good grip of all the arm base with one hand trying to keep the bearings as stable(as little stress as possible). With other hand pressing the thumb on the tube gently pending and sliding. You can not do it in one go. First you need to feel how much force the is to be needed to start effective bending.
I would not try to take the arm apart. And I am not sure if the tube can be separated easily. There are too many other things to go wrong while doing it.

thanks you for answer vanakaru
Would you do everything only with your hands?
It's very interesting
I thought it is only possible with tools or other ways
I know it won't be easy
I know that perfection is unattainable
I would like to start improving,
the important thing is not to do worse damage

I would do with hands. Using tools is more complicated. Specially do not try any kind of mallet. You could try pressure against wood block maybe. Wood Working Quick Grip Clamp may be at help.

Klaus' method is far better and safer. There are threads posted on this topic; it might take some search attempts. I recall seeing pictures. The result, however, would essentially be perfection. I recall a Craftsman Philips head screwdriver being part of the fix, and the tonearm would need to be disassembled. Just bending the arm with your hands can achieve something, but it may not be exactly right.

I believe I've found that thread here: viewtopic.php?f=37&t=103966&p=890182&hi ... rm#p890182 . It talks about the aforementioned phillips and a bent arm on a 1228.
