Dual Bahaving Badly

Post by vinylinus » 03 Oct 2019 17:49

I have a Dual 1219 that is currently working as a manual turntable and until recently as an automatic one also. In repairing a separate issue - I managed to unknowingly cause a part to fall out - can you help me as to where this part belongs? Also, when you try to move the 'start - stop' lever the action is frozen. If I manually rotate the yellow plastic wheel underneath - I can get it to the neutral point where the switch moves but without any resulting function - all other positions of the yellow wheel render the switch frozen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Those are parts 162, shutoff lever, and 163, friction plate. They are part of the yellow gear wheel and need to be installed for the auto shutoff to work. I know you state you have a 1219, but the bottom view you show is a 1229Q, so the item number references I'm giving are from the 1229Q service manual. The 1219 works the same in this regard.

Thank you! Problem solved! The bottom pic was just for reference - not the actual unit in question. I was able to remove the cam gear and install the assembly back on top. It took a lot of research, help from these forums and my wife's uncanny ability to think logically about any situation!
