It wouldn't be as challenging without the two knobs! :drawing:

Maybe this was what they designed the DeLorean on? :-k

Yeah, Very funny!

Many Toy companies of the 80's focused on electronic toys as computers became popular. :D

Here is the latest addition to my calculator collection.

This is the Casio 121-MR from 1975.

It is well built with very nice styling and features a beautiful 12 digit VFD display.

If you want an inspiring read, then read up on the history of Casio, a company that was started by a former metal lathe operator and quite literally rose from the ashes.

Thanks Manfred!

I like the VFD display which is easy on the eyes and great in lower light. This one also makes a great paperweight! =D>

The buttons on these calculators feel a lot nicer than the ones they use on today's cheaply made calculators.

Casio was one of the few companies that has survived from the early days of the pocket calculator and is still thriving, although they have branched out to watches and other stuff too. They even made a calculator watch which is one of the ultimate nerd accessories!

I recently picked up this Fluke 52 K J Digital Thermometer. It can give accurate readings for temperature through use of thermocouples.

It can measure from minus 200C to 1370C (-328F to 2498F) with type K thermocouples as well as record maximum/minimum and differential.

If you wanted to accurately calibrate your oven or see how hot or cold something gets, this will do the trick.

Tinkaroo, I'm also a fan of the early Casio calculators. Nice find!

I'm glad you like them too!

They had outstanding styling and a great build quality! =D>

People who have only owned a dollar store calculator can't really appreciate the difference from one of these as far as quality goes.
