Instead of listening, was motor biking ,cycling, walking miles with my dog, felling trees for firewood,(deadly with the chainsaw)and gardening; all sadly stopped for health reasons but still love to paint, play many musical instruments, enjoy the pets and tinker with adjustments but still listening on the other equipment including the PC while writing. Not easy but having a cataract removed on Wednesday so all will be easier if one of the successful ones, then you can add reading to the list again.

All the best with the cataract surgery.
I had both of my eyes done in the spring. Now I can focus my cameras, again, and have been getting back into it. Makes it a lot easier to read, too.

Cheers,
Alec

That is great to hear guys! I had one eye done years ago, so I know what you feel. The night before it was done was the longest ever, right? It is actually a simple operation. Driving without eye-lenses or glasses, camerawork or detailed painting, a new world opening up, enjoy!

Thanks friends, I have not had the time of surgery yet so perhaps tomorrow for Wednesday but am dreading having a local instead of general anaesthetic.
Painting will improve but the Parkinson's is always a slight problem but with two large bags of books to read it is going to be great, while listening to the music.
It is real headache stuff when one eye is always blurred as you both know.
Keep spinning the vinyl, a great release from life's little problems.

I'm afraid that the two senior "members" have a bit of a head start on me...

History Man, that is a great hobby! What do you consider an old bike? Do you keep all of them? Any pictures of the proces?

I have about a dozen at any one time. A mixture of old and new. Oldest is 1953 road bike. I really like early steel mountain bikes from the 80s. Picture limits on here restrict my posting.

Before and after.

Beautiful oldies! Here is mine. Only 5 pictures allowed per posting.
In short: bought in 2013, this is a replica from about 1965. I designed a new steering and had it made. I sandblasted the frame and sprayed it, with handpainted white striping. New front logo and aluminium fork covers on the big and small wheel. The wheels were freshly spoked and balanced, new front bearings, all new 'Gazelle' nuts and bolts and new pedals.

For me it's playing guitar. I've been playing for over 40 years now. Started very, very young in elementary school. Don't get to play out much anymore, b/c of work and stuff. Used to much more when I was younger, live and studio work.

Totalled the VFR in a head on collision with a car doing a left turn in front of me in 2016

Decided that whilst I am old enough to know better, I was still young enough not to care.... :-)

Beautiful bike, I wish you a lot of fun with it. Still, be very careful driving it. We call it 'defensefull driving'(I hope that is a good translation). It means there is danger everywhere, even when you think there is not. Believe me, I know, I also have a bike, and I don't mean the Penny Farthing in my avatar!
