R.I.P.

Post by AsOriginallyRecorded » 06 Oct 2019 20:36

After a long illness, perhaps the greatest jazz/rock drummer of all time, the legendary Ginger Baker has passed, aged 80. Fiery and volatile his entire performing career, he brought a new style of drumming to the music scene and spawned thousands of unique and inspired drummers and their signature styles. Few can claim such distinction, and we all benefit from his rebel nature every time we hear the impact of a bass drum or a scintillating cymbal roll. He was, indeed, the Cream of drummers. RIP, Ginger Baker. :( :( :(

Yes, I entirely agree. I remember listening to Cream in the common room at school. Really was fascinated by his drum playing. A great loss to the music world.
