Vinyl Nights Coming This Thursday...

Post by XJ99 » 05 Aug 2019 15:25

Any advice? Play through like a FM station. Pause between songs,
and MC a little? Any advice would help. I'm usually playing mp3 on
my Pioneer DJ controller. There will be no mixing/scratching on
vinyl night. Just listening to albums, buy, sell, trade, talk, etc....

Thanks in advance!

Who's the audience?

If they are just wanting background, play through with minimal comment.

If it is like John Peel's (BBC DJ RIP, well known, revered, for his introducing new music and acts) sessions then they will want an explanation, the catalogue number, pressing details etc...

So, back to who's the target audience?

Mostly casual audience into 60,s 70,s 80,s music.
Nothing to crazy. Thoughts on explanation, the
catalogue number, pressing details etc. sounds
like a good idea!

I realise it's a weekday night and people may have work, but for a bit of fun and introduction to some great albums, how about this book. :D

"The ultimate listening party guide, Booze and Vinyl shows you how to set the mood for 70 great records from the 1950s through the 2000s."

I'm booked at a tap house that carries German beer, and local craft
beers. That looks really cool anyway, so I bought it off Amazon! LOL
