No one here is asking for critiques.
Really? What does Let's talk about photography means then?

Should the name of the thread be: Let's give me a pat on the back and absolutely not talk about photography?
You've made me laugh again.

I've been having kind of a rough day so thank you. I needed a little levity.

Alec posted some nice butterfly photos a while ago. this beautiful Monarch visited me a few years back.I think it was taken with my 100 mm f2.8 macro lens and my Sony A700 camera.

Butterflies, eh? :-k Since you guys like them, I would be remiss if I didn't show you some pics from the very cool Butterfly House up on Mackinac Island...There were so many of them inside, but I thought I'd share a few with you...These are not professional, by any means, but they are nice to look at! 8-[

Thanks for sharing those photos VM! =D>

Yes it's a very nice butterfly house on Mackinac, which I was lucky enough to visit some time back.

I really love the blue one!

We get an influx of butterflies that resemble the Monarch every summer but I've never gotten a good picture of one.

Yes butterflies can be very elusive!

They don't usually like people getting too close to them, and catching them with their full colours on display can take a bit of patience and luck. That Monarch was attracted by my butterfly bush which will attract butterflies.

I need to get a new bush this spring since my dogs killed the last one by chewing on it! #-o

I just stumbled across this one taken in 2012. I have no recollection of taking this photo. It was taken with a camera I seldom use and I don't look through this folder often.

Most of my photos sit unseen by anyone but me. This thread gives me an excuse to expose some of them on occasion.

Thanks Tink.

I just realized how similar the tone is to the cover of the album by Pat Metheney and Lyle Mays, As Falls Wichita, So Falls Wichita Falls.

Perhaps I should Photoshop in a phone.

Yes. I can see the similarities!

I was thinking a flying saucer like those in Earth vs The Flying Saucers instead of a phone! 8)
