Same with never going to New York.
The only time New York is worth going to is the autumn. In winter the streets and sidewalks are choked with snow, and in the summer the entire city smells like hot garbage. Literally.
Ahh, but theres always the history, bars and Jazz/blues.

It's the only time I've been and was there for Halloween. Madness. That was 1990.

Will be there in late August this year, nearly 30 years on...

Oh my God, Tonybro. Halloween in nyc is indeed awesome. Been there for it several times. There are some good record shops there you will enjoy checking out too.

You and Fluffy aren't hiking to your still site, are you?
(I've been watching too many episodes of "Moonshiners")
Love the Crape myrtle in the 2nd picture.

After the major challenge (in my condition) of alone, lugging three days worth of camping supplies, a dog, water and food down a rocky, muddy 1.2 mile trail early last fall to a clearing near a overlook called Table Rock and setting up camp after dark, I was surprised to later discover this second wonderful view down a overgrown path about 100 feet long starting just behind my tent. A little work before leaving with a small axe, handsaw, and machete made this cliff once again easily accessible to future visitors. Posted a bit late, but better late than never as I just got back to the forum after a long break.

No, I'm not old enough to have taken this shot. Borrowed from the web; legal download actually.

The cathedral here in Rouen. Better known than some others because Claude Monet did 30 paintings of it. Different times of year and of day.

POP is only about 20k and is about 50 miles up the Hudson from NY City.

This is just down the road from me.

This is just a couple of miles outside of town. It is part of the "West Hills County (gulf) Club" that spans both sides of the local Wallkill River .The bridge is just for gulf carts / people and grounds care care vehicles.
