Interesting.
So is that a Rega acrylic platter sitting on an AR inner platter?
I'm guessing the heavier Merrell springs as well?

not a xa but though some folks might find of interest - ar77xb. i found this in a friends basement. got it working and im really enjoying it. was thinking of building a new base but the ar77s look has grown on me! before and after 8)

Looks like you're running a Grado. Grados and AR's seem to do very well together. Is your headshell a SME type or does it have the dreaded plastics nibs?

I have a highly modified version which was missing the arm when I bought it so went down the modified route.
They are terrific to work on with simple foolproof electronics but produce a superb sound.
Well done on your refurb.

My AR XA with a Claro Walnut base. Manufacture date Feb. 21 1967. Updated suspension, belt and co-polymer pulley from Vinyl Nirvana.
