Sylvania SC 78 1 w

Hi! Just purchased a console. Record player worked but before I picked it up a person browsing the store made the needle pop off.

I'm unsure how to know if he messed something up-

The turn table works and the automatic mode works and the arm drops into appropriate position-

Radio works but there is a hum. If you turn the unit up the hum does not get louder.

Basically- trying to simply get any information and source possible needed parts.
Has garrard turntable- as mentioned above that mechanically works but now I'm unsure about needle and/or cartridge-

My electrician says he can fix the hum.
I'm concerned about the needle/cartridge now also - store owner said before the person messed with it they were absolutely playing records in the store (I know her to be trustworthy-)

Also need to fix hum.
It's a beautiful piece- 69" long!

What are the best resources?
Any tips?
Any info would be most appreciated.

On cartridge area I see what looks like
1810 or 181D
Up from that is the letter A

Up inside the part that is attached to insee numbers 606/370422
Could be another slash between the 3/7 - it's hard for me to see it.

The hum is there all the time I should have said. But with increased volume it's simply less noticeable.

You will get more attention if your post your question in the "turntable and tonearms" forum. This forum is specific to Acoustic Research turntables and you console with Garrard changer is not an Acoustic Research unit.
