Unfortunately, there is no such thing as an invisible repair to clear plastic :(
Yeah but I have read (on the internet) of 'welding' plastic using plastic rods and an electric 'welding torch' with a small tip. Then file/sand/polish/etc it...

Yes, I've had plastic welding done to various things, but you're out of luck with clear plastic I'm afraid. It won't be much less visible than what you have now. For the small difference in price (for what will be an unsatisfactory job) you can get a brand new one made, in any colour you like, and cheaper than a used second-hand one from evilBay.

Hi derspankster,

It looks good. What about price? Do you suppose he can do one for a Kenwood KD 500?

Do you have a link?

Thanks,

Phil

New ARXA DC.jpgBoth of mine had cracks like that. Happens over time. The dustcovers are ultra cheap and ugly to boot. I broke down last year and bought a new one from an ebay seller. Very heavy duty and beautiful to boot. Love the etched logo too.

Here's the link; https://www.ebay.com/itm/Acoustic-Resea ... 2580763772 I see he has really raised his pricing since I bought mine. I paid $124.77 with shipping when I bought. You might be able to contact him to see if he could make one for your table. I am aware of other sources but don't have any info on them.

Hi Vinyl master,

Thanks for posting that. It is beautiful! If karal123 were still around I would congratulate him.

The Kenwood KD 500 is a nice turntable but has a weird cover design which is prone to breakage. karal123's design won't work for me but may inspire a variation which will work.
