Well Ill Help keep the thread a little busy. I received a fantastic package from NJ today! In it a rewired SME 3009 from S. Frosten. Now the images (the one on the table) is just for looks and not the current operational configuration (lol). Dead quiet and beautifully built using Cardas wire. The pics are not the best but for a phone (V30) not shabby, enjoy!

I will have to report back later with how much this rewire kicks the stock cable's ass but very quickly I noticed that it does not HUM like the old cable.

Looks like a great "reference standard", but what kind of cartridge are you using?

You can pull the tonearm out of the bearing well and put a twist on the tonearm wires going into the plinth.
This can put tension on the wire braid and thus put tension on the stylus contact point.

What is fascinating to me is that the AR really doesn't need much anti-skate at all and still sounds great.

It doesn't need quartz lock, speed adjustment or strobe light either.
A cue lift would be nice, thus the XB.

I just picked up an XA which needs to have the arm rewired. A 3009 is sitting on another project table with a bad motor and I’m thinking about putting it on the XA.

Your beautiful work inspires me. Care to lend advice?

Got one on a Frosten ES1 and could not be happier. I am sure the results will be positive on the XA or XB.

Mmmm, now I wonder what I could be doing with these...
