Something thing I'd like to make clearer. None of these belts sound 'bad' (in fact, all quite good), but when you're listening specifically for differences, you tend to notice things you wouldn't otherwise. At least in my experience.

Great first impressions!

It will be interesting to get feedback on those decks with the stock plastic sub platter too. Perhaps completely different ranking...

Thanks for the comprehensive feedback!

Thanks for the observations, dysmike! I got a set coming in from Jim as well, but it going to at least a month before reporting any results. Gotta work you know.....
Cheers, Doug

A friendly bump to see if anyone else is interested in trying out some various belt materials.

This has slipped down in the post listing and I have replenished my stock, so there are another ten sets available.

Also listed on eBay if you are more comfortable shopping there. (or you have eBay bucks to spend)

Another bump.

I'm going to spin some discs (to make tapes) and had to dig some belts out for myself. Based on Mike's feedback, I'll be running a type 2 belt. I have the plastic sub platter, so it'll be interesting to see if I like it or not.

I'm also going to test the type 9 and the Silicone belt (type 6). Looking forward to some listening!

I'm still running the red (type 6) belt. I swear it's getting better the more it runs (which makes sense). Then again, as it happens we have some longish term house guests.. so not a whole lot of critical listening time anyway.

Thanks for the feedback Mike.

Does the Rega white belt come with instructions for a break in period?

I wonder how they would all retest if they were run for 24 hours straight and the speed and SD were compared to the “cold” condition...
