Am I right with my guess, that the AT150Z has a black cartridge body?
If so, pictures please... [-o< [-o< [-o<

Most recent addition to my collection: Pickering V-15/ACE-3 (with TEI [Normarrh] Stanton 500AL stylus).

I bought the cartridge simply because I like the blue color, which reminds me of some of the late '50s / early '60s household appliances my grandparents had. :)

Glad the Q wasn't how many stylus...
shure m75encore,m44e,m70ej,1000e,sc35c,no ID p mount
Audio Technica at433 and a pickering v15. 4 came off tables I got cheap and serviced or scrapped (1) and resold with an at3600 installed. One I found in a jar at an estate sale. The m75ed and sc35c bought new.almost forgot realistic v15rs, one channel 900 ohms, the other 1200, no stylus. Well, a 97b but I'm listening to it in the 1000e, matching channels.

Today I added a vintage Shure M44C to my collection. I already have a couple of M44s but they're current production from Mexico; I've been itching to get an old USA M44 and do some comparison listening to see if the USA ones really are better than the Mexico ones.

I did have to remove the metal "can" from the plastic housing because I noticed that it was at a weird angle, and upon further inspection I discovered that the glue holding it in place was no longer doing its job. I took it out, put a few drops of super glue inside the plastic housing, and pressed the can back into place. Should be fine now, I hope. If not, maybe I'll treat myself to one of those gorgeous wooden bodies from Stanley Engineering...

Any more I pretty much use a Sure m97xe. My albums are getting old as am I and don't hear well. I have a B&O SP 12 on the shelf. A Stanton for the beaters. I don't change them out much. My amp has 2- 4- 8mv settings and 25 50 and 100k ohm. I found some don't put out near the voltage advertised. Sure gives decent sound will ride the little warps and I get the volume I should out of it.

I keep eyeing those Pickering XSV-5000s for $500, but just can't pull the trigger on one...

So tempting, though.

Right now my main cartridge is the Nagaoka MP-150, but I also picked up a Goldring 2200, so we'll see how that works with my new Fisher deck.

Has anyone ever used a Micro Acoustics QDC-1E Electret cartridge. I bought one back in 1976 for 110 dollars new at a stereo shop in St.Johnsbury VT.But stylus got worn and then could not find them again.

I've never had the pleasure of owning one or hearing one in person. They're supposed to be quite lovely. It's a shame that there are no aftermarket styli available.

This cartridge captivates with the naivety of its sound. This is very unusual in our time and reminds me of my childhood and youth ))

Hi,

how do you keep your pickups up?
I do use mounting brackets from Audio Technica headshell packaging in DIY wood frames and a converted corkscrew box......
