AT95E (came with turntable)
Ortofon 2M Red

Am pleased with the Ortofon Red so far. Only have it loaded with maybe 25 pf of capacitance (could perhaps go higher).

I get a fright every time I go through an exercise like this and realise just how many cartridges are in my collection! Highlighted in bold are those currently in use:

1. Audio Technica AT-150E/G
2. Benz-Micro Wood L2
3. Dynavector Karat DV-23R
4. Dynavector Karat 17D2
5. Empire D4000/I
6. Grace F-9E
7. Ortofon OM-40
8. Ortofon Samba
9. Ortofon OMP-20 (p-mount)
10. Pickering XSV-4000
11. Pickering TMZ 22E (p-mount)
12. Stanton WOS CS-100 (x2)
14. Technics EPC-205C
15. Technics EPC-310MC (p-mount) (x3)
18. Transfiguration Axia-S
19. Zyx R50 Bloom
20. Van den Hul DDT II Special

Always hard to pick a favourite and they run in different arms and on different turntables but if forced, I'd go with the Axia-S which is a superb all-rounder. The Stanton WOS CS-100 is the pick of my MMs.

I have an at440mlb since this cartridge seems to have quite a following, and then the cart that came with the at TT, don't remember it's designation. The difference between the 2 is very profound, one has very pronounced high end and low end, the at440mlb had very pronounced midrange and a nice amount of base. I have some yamaha powered computer speakers hooked to the LR front speakers to supliment the tweeters. But I have spoken elswhere about my propensity for many multiple speakers to get the full range of sound. The at440mlb had a huge amount of base response when it was new, but to my dissapointment as it breaks in this is going away replaced at the moment by a disturbing amount of sibelalance in the base range. I'm hoping as this cart breaks in further this will disappear. I'm not well healed enough to have the full range of carts I would like, but am hoping to run across a $1,500 cart at a good will and snag it.

Nope, you gotta have AT LEAST one to be able to enjoy the music! If you don't have one, you gotta get one, one way or another! Them's the rules!

It's like going into the deep end of the pool without something to keep you afloat...Sure, it may be nice to watch and not jump in because you can't swim, but then, you're missing out on all the fun otherwise! =D>

If you read my post in the cartridge thread about finding my one true cartridge, you’d get the joke.

Shall return when I’ve found it though, cheers eh!
