Can anyone identify this cartridge please?

Post by Matylda1602 » 09 Oct 2019 19:22

I've been trying to ID this cart by image searching the web.
Absolutely no joy...
I think it came attached to an ACOS Lustre arm on a Garrard 40 iirc, but that was years ago, and I've never used it.
It seems well made, but has no markings at all - except "Made in England" on the mount.
Anyone help?

I think it's a Goldring G-950. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot of information about it available.

Regards.

Thanks.
That's the most progress I've made in a week of googling!☺️

Here is an old thread re: similar identification for a G950

This is a nice history of Goldring with some timelines:

In the 1970/80's, GoldRing were the standard generic replacement styli available in Australia.

Goldring (AUS) still have a presence here:
https://goldringstylus.com.au/

It's not the easiest site to find what you are looking for unless you know the stylus identity.
