First go at focus stacking (used A&R E77 - nude elliptical) to make it easier I used 4x microscope objective not my 10x. Left is single shot and right stacked version

Note to self
1. Clean stylus before setting up
2. Use smaller steps as missed the critical point
3. The XYZ table makes this soooo much easier.
4. Need to talk to someone for best settings for stacking software.

Very nice, great start! I'm slowly collecting pieces, and a 10x is next on my long list.

Beryllium has the lowest moving mass. A lot of treble, a lot of detail, but I don’t hear the stratification of the sound. It sounds harmonious and clean.

Great... :D

So, how does Ruby sound compared to Beryllium and does the Aluminum have any hope?

Ruby and beryllium sound very close together. It is difficult to give preference to one of them. Dynamically, purely, naturally, too detailed (for me).
Aluminum sounds different, soft, without annoying notes.
Much depends on the quality of the vinyl record.
A dim record will be revived by beryllium and ruby, respectively Shibata and Guger.
An overly bright recording will smooth out the aluminum with the sphere.
Every music lover knows this. )))
Therefore, I can no longer imagine how you can have in use only one pickup, one tonearm, one phono stage ...

After work, I returned my J7 to the tonearm. Aluminum and a sharp stylus - softness and detail. :)

This is why I love the sound of my AT440MLb (aluminum + MicroLine). The best of both worlds. 😍

Well... I used to have an AT-440MLb, but gave it away and kept the AT-150sa because I prefer the sound of Shibata tip over Microline.
My order of preference for tips is MicroRidge - ULM Paratrace - Shibata - Microline - .2x.7 Ellipticals - Conicals

FGS I don't have any that I have emotionally connected with...
They sound good, but that is it...

For cantilever order of preference is Beryllium - Boron - Ruby / Sapphire - Cactus - Aluminum pipes...

I like to hear all possible detail that can be presented... :D

MicroRidge diamonds and MicroLine diamonds are the same; it's interesting that you prefer MicroRidge over MicroLine :)
