Looks like an M95 with a JICO SAS Boron stylus. I have the same combo. :)
Exactly!

'twas this way when I got the deck. But, yeah, I can imagine that high heat + delicate wiring inside a cart is not the best thing.

Sounds great, though.

on closer inspection, i believe the solder we're seeing is on the wire connectors, not the cartridge contact tips. Looks like the connectors are pressed on per the norm.

Ah. That explains it. I made an assumption based on just one photo... and it was from an angle that gave the wrong impression. I'd imagine that M95 is greatly improved by the SAS/Boron stylus assy.

Shelter is a beautifully assembled cartridge. Build culture is the highest. Shelter can easily lose its charm even if it allows low-quality soldering of one of the contacts.
This is my favorite and respected company.
I have one pritenzy for them, they assemble the case using epoxy resin. It is not good !
I'm curious if you've ever been able to dissolve the epoxy on a Shelter Case? It's a nicely built aluminum case but I wonder what the cartridge looks like with the outer casework removed.
-Steve
I managed to open Shelter, just don’t ask how ))
Nothing unusual, you just need to know the properties of the resin and its weaknesses.
Also, I always ask permission to post photos in the public domain for everyone who contacts me. As you can see, the "Shelter’s" owners are very cautious users and don’t want to show off their print cartridges.

Today's affairs:
Another extracted from the forgetting.
While he is basking in the dryer, debut tomorrow .
I express my gratitude to the first owner of this cartridge, because he did not throw it in the trash ))

When the magnetic axis passes exactly in the center, between the four coils, then the cartridge produces a beautiful surround and relief sound.

Been playing this one the whole day long...

This is one cart I knew and always wanted when I was a teenager... thanks to a good friend, Bill, I finally get to play one on my own system... along with the "Delta" flavor... :D

Wow. I did not know about EV cartridges. I do remember some of their speaker systems, which I liked and owned. That was way back in another time, though.
Is the 310 very good? I presume it is moving magnet...? A quick search reveals that Astatic makes a replacement stylus assembly for it.
VE doesn't have it in their Cartridge Database. So I'd be interested in the usual spec's like suggested tracking force, etc.

This is a ceramic cartridge, which, for a moment, can give you the feeling of a distant childhood, but no more.

The second option is to make a special corrector for this cartridge, which will suppress its excessive brightness (loudness).

While listening, I set the clamp 5 grams.
I did not find the information as it should be.
