Under the blue seal should be a piece of lead and a string to the magnet.

I'm still working on getting good photos off my recently acquired microscope and you can see those in the next post. In this post we have close-ups on the tonearm and turntable.
A Technics EPC 205C mkII
More photos which should have showed in this post will follow in next post. Perhaps there is a limit to photo size and quantity per post at VE these days?
I acquired this cartridge used summer 2017. I found out that when you convert it's rated compliance spec from "@100 Hz" to the more common 10 Hz rating it works out to 20 Hz and that will work on lighter effective mass tonearms. Just barely it works on the Infinity Black Widow tonearm pictured. Using the HFN 001 test record I recorded a lateral arm/cartridge resonance at 11 Hz, which fits within the 8 to 12 Hz target range. SQ was very good.
I reviewed it at this link: http://www.theanalogdept.com/epc205cmk2.htm

Above shot at 50x.

Above shot at 200x. Wear pattern is evident.

Above are two microscope shots of the afore mentioned Technics EPC 205C mkII.
Stylus is elliptical. Cantilever is tubular titanium. From the late 1970's. Technics.

Stive, colleague, good analysis and work done.
The pictures are good too, a little work on the depth of field.

re: depth of field. Yeah, I missed the zone on this one....but I liked the reflection so I didn't toss it. Maybe I should have tossed it after all.

I just bought an old fixer-upper microscope and am in the process of learning how to use it with phono cartridges. In the days to come I'll have more photos of old cartridges...but none of the cartridges will be as interesting as those you show....but expect microscope shots of the stylii.
