Beautiful. Same diamond and cantilever as the Ortofon 2M Blue. I have a 2M Blue and like it very much. :)

Yep, it was apparently pretty dirty. This is what it looked previously. Delta is truly a magician!

Is that your cactus needle cantilever? It looks like a very long ruby!

Fascinating, such a different structure from most MC carts. It seems like the magnet pole pieces are very focused on the coils. The step-tapered cantilever is very nice. How does it sound? Do you need to do anything to it besides clean the stylus?

For anyone curious about the inner workings of a Grace F-9 ruby stylus assembly... Not at all like the aluminum cantilever-magnet assemblies. Please forgive the poor photo quality - it's rather dark at the moment and had to turn the sensitivity way up and hand-hold with a macro lens.

And the internals.

I'm looking for a few beat/broken cantilever original F-9 styli to experiment with some cantilever assembly transplants. If anyone has any they'd like to donate to the cause, maybe we can come up with something better than the conical replacements from fleabay, high-priced NOS, or even higher priced (but really great sounding) SS styli.

For comparison, here are some shots from Delta776 of the internal cantilever assembly from an aluminum-cantilever variant...

X3 ,thanks a lot for your photos Ф-9 Рубин. This design is not familiar to me and I study it with great interest. Where is the magnet? Is it inside the brass sleeve? Why did Grace move away from this string-based single-point suspension? These issues are addressed to me to a greater extent.

In the photo above, the magnet is stuck to the back of the cantilever assembly (it's not quite lined up with the cantilever 'holder'. The magnet just sticks on (with magnetic force ONLY) to the rear of the little metal cantilever 'holder'. There is nothing else in the brass tube coming off the stylus body except for the elastomer suspension. The brass plug on the left side is solid brass.
