Post by agarri03 » 13 Aug 2019 17:44

(Sorry for my bad english)

Hello ! I'm Alexis from France !

I recently found a PL-100 turntable at a fleamarket but the stylus is missing !

What is the type of stylus that i can put on this cartridge ?

Thanks for your answer,

I'd just replace the whole cartridge. An Audio Technica methinks.

Look at thakker.eu (not affiliated) you could find a replacement stylus.
Or, as suggested by Mr Pig, buy an Audio Technica. You can begin with the cheap conical or elliptical AT VM 95 C or E, with stylus upgrade possibilities on the same body.
In any case, don't forget to properly adjust the cartridge alignement by using one of the free protractors you can find in the library.

I still think the replacement stylus from Vom is good value here to get you up and running quickly.

Alternatively a new inexpensive cartridge:
AT-3600L https://tinyurl.com/y4k2jsoo

OR the LP Gear elliptical upgrade of the AT-3600L

AND Yes, the AT-VM95 series offers a good upgrade path:
Conical/Elliptical/nude Elliptical/Microline & Shibata.

Perfectly good cartridge, I'm sure you'll be happy with it. Remember and check the tracking force. Runs high that cart.
