Post by wb1ead » 17 Jul 2019 15:53

Hello all..acquired this stereo mixer/preamp this weekend at local flea mrkt..I have the proper wallwart and of course the 4 AA batts too..it is for sure fairly simple not complex..does work at least on the Pioneer turntable..didn't try it on the rest (Dual and Technics)..feeding into either a Marantz or Sherwood amp..can anyone out there post a reliable link to a user manual?..the service manual IS available for download..what I'm looking for is the freq response and db gain of this unit..also are the VU mtrs illuminated somehow or not?..I realize this is certainly not hi-end equiptment but I've searched for a long time on internet with no luk..can someone help please?...thanks 73 de DAVE WB1EAD

I remember these, I had a 32-1200 myself back in the 80s...
Can't help with a manual but here's some info on the 32-1100 from a 1987 catalogue.
Don't know if the 1100A is a significantly different model?

Hey many tnx Chiz!..at least now I know a lot more than I cud gather from the web..I notice in the ad (which I printed off..TNX!)..it came with both lighted up VU mtrs..guess it's time to open 'er up or maybe the A model didn't feature that..but that's a step backwards of the manufacturer so highly unlikely..using an 8VDC pwr supply..I know the "user" manual is out there..the schematic is important as well..a couple previous posts went flat on other subjects so very very grateful for ur response!! 73 de DAVE WB1EAD

Glad I could help :D
Just speculation but maybe as the unit can be battery powered they removed the illumination for the VUs on the later model for longer battery life?

FWIW This guy most likely has a manual for the 32-1100A

I can't find an email address but it looks like a post of some sort may be possible.
-It's a bit of a long shot however.

Good Luck !

Hello agn!..yah I seem to agree that the illuminated VU mtrs wud be a "drag" on the battery life..trying to re-engineer it seems that an on/off switch wud take care of that but of course another added component and up goes the cost..I will let you all know when the covers come off as to whether it's lites are not or what..tnx too Collux for the web site tip..I hope it's not one I've run into earlier in my search when my Norton security went bonkers when I tried to access several sites lookin' for the manual..yes that spindlespider thing looks familiar.....once agn big TNX! to all 73 de DAVE WB1EAD

Hello all. Sorry I am a bit late to the party. I found this page when looking through traffic sources to my blog. I am the owner of spindlespider.com

I do not have a manual for the 32-1100A but I do have one for the 32-1200B. I got that in it's original box on ebay along with everything that came with it many years previous. I went ahead and scanned it today and perhaps it is of some help to someone. Thanks!
