LP Gear Vivid line for At3600?

Post by Dries101 » 19 Jun 2019 12:28

Hi Guys

Anyone here have the Vivid line stylus for the At3600 that can give their feedback? Hi have the elliptical and it is such an improvement on the stick stylus. But is the Vivid line worth the $80 dollars?

Thanks
Dries

I think that it is very questionable.
- maybe a bridge too far?

I myself, recently purchased an AT3600L and whilst I may upgrade to the elliptical; which seems a good option.
I think this sort of money could be better spent on a ViVid Line stylus for other carts that I own; rather than the AT3600L.

But I am sure as the V/L is available, there are those out there who are prepared to give it a try..........

Seems like a good deal. They were charging $130 for the same stylus for the 95 series. Too bad it doesn't come with a stylus guard though like their other elliptical on the same housing. Max out that 3600!

Sure, why not? Gaan met die banaan! I have several At3600L now and it sounds great on any arm and turntable I mount it on.

I also have the AT95E with the 78, and HE stylus, with and without the ebony wood body. If Clearaudio does it so can I. Well, with help from a certain German who makes those perfectly woodworked bodies and sells them on eBay. It's all worth it. The AT95 with HE stylus and wood body looks like a million (ok, 1000) bucks, but it's not only looks. It dampens vibrations too. And it sounds really good. What do you think that's in the 95 body that's so different from the 91 body? Or the expensive bodies? Different wire. Maybe you won't find any silver in the 91 or 95 body but it sounds good. And if you want to really go all out you can pot it with wax.

I ordered the LP gear carbon eliptical and the VL/HE from Jico Canada since its cheaper on postage fees. Not received yet but confident about result.

And I'm not comparing to low-end gear or rubbish. I need a retip (400) on my Koetsu Urushi (5000), playing with Kiseki blue (2000) w/ vdH stylus now, AT33PTG (500) on other table and 1 more DV Karat 17-D2 (1200?) on another still. That €80 is a bargain. THE €35 for the CEb even more and the €8,50 for the 3600L is simply ridiculous. Bargain of the century. I'm totally confident the AT3600HE is absolutely beyond comparison at half the price of the VM540ML. And that's were the competition continues.
