Grados are amazing. Love the Prestige series and they have 2500 hour stylus life if you keep your records and the stylus clean.

Once you are done with the Black tip, you can swap out for any other Prestige tip. You can upgrade to the higher spec Green (it is noticeably nicer sounding even though the basics are the same).
Has anyone compared the gold 2 to any of the 4 piece cantilever variants below it?
My guess is differences will be non existent or very small.

Cafe, I own the entire series from Black to Gold. The Green and Red are my favourites. The Silver/Gold has a huge sound but the Red and Green seem more controlled at the top which is better for my small listening room. I use Grados on my Technics turntable (I have P Mount and Standard mount).

Interesting.. so it seems silver and gold are different?
Will order I think may be a red and try it on the gold, curious what difference will be.

The tips all fit the various bodies but matching body and style pairs sound best.

Gold is great sounding if your room is bigger. Think of it as a Red with more of everything.

Not convinced that the 4 piece cantilever stylus of Grado regardless of colour are not all identical.

Is this not the same as the CF3600LE cartridge from LP Gear only 30% less?

I suppose it could be, but the pessimist in me thinks that it has a conical stylus. Just a misprint (to be kind) on the part of Gemini or its ad agency.

Cheers,

Thank you, and yes that's a possibility.
