Shure m75ed type d

Post by Iloveali » 19 Jan 2019 14:36

Hey all. Awaiting this score of ebay, a shure m75ed type d. Any info? All I find is m75ed type 2. No type d. Same thing? Any spec info would be great.

This is a regular M75Ed type 2 mounted for a Dual headshell. It's meant to clip onto that headshell and be in alignment for a Dual turntable.

Neat, usable on my pioneer pl15dii? Currently waiting on my sled for my 510 dual belt drive.

No, I don't think so.

What type of headshell does your Dual use? This will fit a Dual TK-14/24 type.

There were several different incarnations of the M75 type D cartridge. Some can be mounted only in a Dual sled, some have additional 1/2" holes BUT you need to use special screws (very small self-tapping screws).

As much I am aware of you can mount any 1/2'' type cartridge on Dual sled. Screws or bolts+nuts or special clip-on depending what type of plastic body you cart has. So you do not have to get D clip-on type.

Follow up on this thread, got the m75 type d with a hypereliliptical from bliss. It does in fact just clip in to the dual sled. Ensuring proper alignment? As it isn't movable, only question is that the spot of the stylus for the m75 clip in, does not match a standard 1/2 inch when set up with the dual alignment gauge measurments. Any thoughts

I wonder if your dual alignment gauge is specific for your Dual model?

It was unorthodox but I epoxied an M75-D on a BSR McDonald 810 cartridge slide.

Had to Dremel off the protrusion on top of the cartridge then eyeball positioning but it worked out well.

Those 810 cartridge slides have fixed position holes (for what cartridge I do not know) but those I tried all had the stylus set too far back.

The M75-D cartridge was not being used, the Dual tables I have are all cartridge equipped and I did not care that it could not be removed. I figured it was a good enough cartridge that there would no point in changing it.
