Thanks Everyone!

Lots of great information here. I'll try 3.5 to start. I'm trying to find Headshell Weights for the vintage Technics Headshell that it's mounted on, but can't find any unthreaded weights. There are no holes to screw them into. So thought I might try using Shuretack to put a dime on top of the Headshell. A dime weighs 2.3 grams (will recheck that number) and then I can just dial back the weight on the tonearm. I do have a digital scale to check the weight.

Can anyone recommend any other type of weight? I could buy? I could buy a headshell weight and turn it upside down and attach it with Shuretack, but then the screw would be visible and probably would look pretty ugly!!

Question; is there any way to get email notifications when people reply on this thread? I have to keep coming back to check for any new responses.

BTW, I am able to adjust tracking weight, Azimuth, tone arm height and anti-skate on my JVC QL-7.

Audio Technica has a nice headshell with a threaded hole for extra weight.

Pink M...MamaK has a great idea! I have a Sony PS-X20 table that came with a Concorde EC-10, but wanted to hear my Concorde 20 on it, which required a weight of some sort. I found a trio of weights, curved in the middle and used a round of packing tape to hold it on. Granted, Mama K's idea is much better (probably not so tacky!), but it worked in a pinch...also, the Concorde's not made for the PSX-20, so the trial was short lived, no damage.

Thank you, Mamakasou and Dasher! I found the AT Headshell on Amazon for only $25--it's an AT-HS1. I have it in my cart, but think I will try a temporary method first like Dasher mentioned to see how the ADC sounds first. I will not be back home with my turntable for a few weeks yet, I'm up in the mountains of upstate NY avoiding the heat and humidity of VA. I'm still waiting for the new OEM stylus I purchased to arrive and now I have a great action plan for when I return home.

Meanwhile, I'm going to try to learn more about the "electronics" of audio cartridges to understand better how they work. If all else fails, I can ask my electrical engineer son to help me! I'm lucky that my husband and I have a great sound system that we purchased new over 20 years ago, so all I have had to do is just plug my turntable into our Yamaha Amplifier and I'm good to go :D

I've been looking at QLM styli replacements for a MkI body.

For those interested in ADC QLMs the following links made be useful.

for MkIIIs
https://www.lpgear.com/product/ADCSQLM36MKIII.html
https://www.thevoiceofmusic.com/catalog ... ategories=

If you wish to upgrade; styli for ZLM, XLM & VLM both MkIIIs, would be most suitable.
(QLM MkIIIs have the same electricals: resistance & inductance as the later ZLM, XLM & VLMs)

At the top of the line, advanced profiles from LPGear (ViVidLine & Shibata) or Jico (Shibata) are further high end options.

LP Gear helped me with my stylus, adding a single grid alignment protractor to the mix. I haven't seen that with the cartridges I redid. Nice of them.
