Removing the cartridge from the headshell usually shows the make/type listed on top.

Hey team,

Just wondering if anyone can identify this cartridge for me. I can probably post some better shots of it that shows the top etc if required.

The only writing I can see on it is "Made in Japan".

It came off a Marantz 6300 that I'm playing around with, but I have no idea if it was the original or not, and I'm in New Zealand so I guess anything may has been put on it.

The stylus that was on it was yellow in color, and had no writing on it at all. The black plastic strip on top of the cartridge is corrugated.

Thanks,
Graeme Froggatt.

Hi Graeme ! :)

I welcome you to the VE forum.
You became the owner of the cartridge Audio Technica AT-91.

Dmitry.

Awesome, thanks Dmitry.

I've actually swapped it out for an old AT-95E that I had sitting in a drawer for a couple of decades.

Interesting that the yellow stylus that was on the AT-91 had no Audio Technica logo on it at all.

much appreciated,
Cheers, Graeme.

Hey everyone,

I'm still pretty new to the identifying cartridge game, and so have another cartridge that I would like a bit of information about please.

The attached photo shows the cartridge from an old friend's turntable, and he is keen to purchase a new stylus (after a very long time using the current one).

Anyway, from what I can see the cartridge is an Ortofon OMB cartridge, as per the writing on the side.

So firstly, can someone please just confirm that this is indeed an Ortofon OMB cartridge.

After some basic searches on the internet, it appears that a lot of different Ortofon stylus will fit this cartridge (see the link below as one example), so can someone please also confirm that many Ortofon stylus will fit this cartridge, and so it's probably a matter if how much my friend wants to spend.

Thanks,
Graeme Froggatt.

Not sure what the difference is between the OMB and OM but these should all fit:
