Hi Gurus
Please help identify the stylus
I bought a Miracord 50H recently. It came with the original cartridge STS355. However the stylus is not D355. It is shown in the attachment for your reference.
Appreciate for any info.
Cheers
John

Hey guys looking for some help identifying this cartridge. It came off an ESL 1000 tonearm mounted on a Thorens 124. Not sure if it is anything special, but would be good to know.
That seems to be a General Electric VR-22 cartridge (or maybe an OEM variant).

Some information:

Super. I appreciate that.

It's an AT3710 cartridge. Suitable replacement styli:
  • ATN3710 (red, spherical diamond)
  • ATN3711 (yellow, spherical diamond)
  • ATN3711E (light green, elliptical diamond)
  • ATN3712E (blue, elliptical diamond)
Genuine replacement styli are still available (eBay or thakker.eu, for example).

Hi all, first post here from me.

I think I posted my question in the wrong thread at first. I have just found an old AKAI PC 180 cartridge with its original (PC 180?) stylus on it, my dad bought it in the 80's but have never used it. Could someone please tell me a few words on this cartridge, as there is very limited information available on the internet about this one. Is it a good one, a bad one, should I sell it, keep it, any other advice? 0 miles, in its box.

Thanks in advance
Adam

Please post up a picture. I know that Akai has some rebranded Piezo carts.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

The Akai PC-180 (the stylus is called RS-180) is a rebranded audio-technica AT14Sa. Upper class and well regarded.

You're welcome.

In my opinion the PC-180 is a kind of collectors item - you can find a lot of AT14Sa cartridges, but the Akai seems to be pretty rare.

And I think it's the better looking AT14Sa. Personally, I would prefer the restrained black finish over the "pompous" gold finish of the AT14Sa... .

Hi, asking a probably dim question again,

I thought this ortofon cart was an M15 super - however I noticed a few differences;

Firstly it is silver coloured, whilst all the pictures I've seen of M15 supers are gold.
Secondly, the posts at the back are arranged differently to the pictures I've seen.
The cart definitely has the "hour glass" socket shape - my camera is too poor to show it (I had to use a jewellers glass to see it myself!)

I was all set for buying a D15/M15 type stylus, but now I am getting more confused by all the different N15 , F15 types, and am at a loss.

Can anyone help and tell me what it is, and which "hourglass" stylus would be the best?

Hi
Do you know that stylus?
I have lost the body cell and I don't remember where and when I bought the complete cartridge.
I look for data on the web but I have never found that red stylus and the T mark.
So is it possible that it is a Tetraphonic from the ancient Greek tetra = 4 ?
Thank you to read that message.
And please pardon me my English !
I am a French guy😁
