I always thought the only red ADC styli were the 78 rpm 3 mil tips. This is new to me.

Definitely not a Shure stylus. It's most likely a Philips GP 214 (ceramic cartridge).

That would be an Audio-Technica AT70 family model. However, the black needle wasn't one of the regular versions. I'm pretty sure I've seen it before, though - iirc, it was an OEM variant made for some other brand, but at the moment I don't remember which one (*) and which of the regular needle versions it was equivalent to...

Does the front show the usual AT logo?

Greetings from Munich!

*) Maybe Hitachi, Yamaha, Sansui or ITT, possibly even Technics...

Hi
Do you know that stylus?
I have lost the body cell and I don't remember where and when I bought the complete cartridge.
I look for data on the web but I have never found that red stylus and the T mark.
So is it possible that it is a Tetraphonic from the ancient Greek tetra = 4 ?
Thank you to read that message.
And please pardon me my English !
I am a French guy😁

That’s a lesser quality stylus for a good ADC QLM cartridge. You can get better styli. You just need a body. Here’s what the body looks like:

Dear friends.
Please help identify this cartridge.
I think it's a Nagatron. But which model?
It was mounted to an Optonica RP-2727 turntable. Possibly a Sharp cartridge made by Nagatron?

Hi. I have an Audio Technica VS215E. It is a T4P/p mount. Googling, I'm finding information on the VS215EP, but my cartridge doesn't have the trailing P.

Any idea what the differences are? Any links to specs? Would the stylus be interchangeable?

I’m pretty sure the trailing P suffix is redundant in your case, meaning it’s the p-mount version.

That would make sense, the pics of the VS215EP look identical to me VS215E.

Thanks Manfred

The front just shows a vertical line:

scytale: Might be a 3rd party replacement needle for the ATN70, then. The original ATN70s were red, but I remember having seen black replacements for that, too.

Edzky: I'd deem that a 3rd party replament for the Shure N95G (for the Shure M95 cart).

Erin1: Glanz M(F)G-55R, I'd say. I think the Sharp variant was the C-100.

P.S.: This is one of the somewhat problematic cart models, as it existed in both MM and MI variants. Yours appears to have the cylindrical magnet installed, so it would belong to the latter - which makes it easier, as it'll work with both the MI and MM needle variants (of which the former tend to be green, while the latter tend to be blue).
