The Nagaoka MP110 is a good match for your old Pioneer. I have one on my Pioneer PL15DII, very similar turntable to yours. Sounds great, easy on the ears, lively and musical...

I just ordered a pair of Audio Technica AT450 cartridges.
These have better performance specifications than the MP110 at a much lower price.
LPGear sells them for $67, but there's a seller on ebay who has them for only $32.

Nude mounted diamond vs bonded on the MP-110 should give lower effective tip mass and better energy transfer.
.3x.7 stylus vs .4x.7 on the MP-110 should give better high frequency response and lower distortion.
Channel separation 29dB vs 23dB on the MP-110
Channel balance 1dB vs 1.5dB on the MP-110.
Frequency response 10Hz-27kHz vs 20Hz-20kHz on the MP-110

I have never heard an MP-110, but I think it's performance specifications are not very impressive for the price.
I own the AT-95E.
It is OK, but nothing more. I don't know why people rave about it except that it's pretty cheap.
I feel quite certain the AT450 I mentioned above will significantly outperform the AT-95E and probably the Nagaoka, too.
The AT450 and AT-95E are both made by Audio Technica, but the AT450 is at least two steps higher in performance, according to Audio Technica's specifications.
And it's less expensive than both of them.

Sumiko Pearl is an excellent cartridge with a wide soundstage and a dynamic and rhythmic sound with a nice bass, organic midband and an airy treble. It's on the warm side of things, so a fuller and smoother sound than the 2M Red. Compared to the Nagaoka it has lesser energy in the treble. I had my Sumiko Pearl for many years and found it to be an excellent cartridge for money.

The Sumiko Black Pearl is less detailed not as open sounding as the Pearl, but it's a nice warm cozy thing with a faiblesse for worn out records.

Tp: I'd suggest to consider the Osawa OS-301 - still available from a couple of the Dutch vendors for ca. 100 Euro (and also from Thakker, but more expensively), and new old stock original needles are also still available for a pretty fair price. Needle-quality-wise the OS-301 is about on level with the medium-sharp, nude ellipticals from Ortofon (e.g. VMS20II, OM20(Super), 520(II)/VMRed, 2M Blue), and it should be a good match for the arm of your PL-112D.

Greetings from Munich!

Sunfire. How did you like the AT450 ? I noticed they are still available on eBay and was considering trying one.

I have not had a chance to mount it up.
But DubbaDubbaDubbaCha got one and likes it a lot.
See his comments near the end of this thread:

The p-mount AT450 is a renamed AT316EP, for whatever that is worth. :)
Manuals for both are in the library here. Unfortunately, there is a 1/2" mount AT450, too, which confuses things. Not the same cartridge.

Opened it up, can’t see anything wrong. Wiggled the cables and put it all back together - same thing. I’m not rubbing it through the Arcam as that’s a recent acquisition. I’ve had enough of it. A new turntable it is.
