Hi Guys, I would like to hear your opinion for the Danon DL103 or DL110 for my Technics SL-1700 and Cambridge Audio 651P.I snapped the stylus for my shure M97xe while i was trying to brush off some dust anyway i will get a replacement stylus for this cart.
What kind of music do you play? The 110 is the party girl, and the 301 is more of a lady. I love them both. BTW the 301 sounds better with a SUT feeding the MM side of my 640P than it does the MC side.
Hi Alec, I listen to all kinds of music from Rock to Classical and mostly Instrumental for example James last,Ace Cannon,Floyd Cramer just to name a few.regarding the DL103 with SUT is it really needed or can it be run with just the CA 651P's MC input? The thing is i can get either one for the same price (DL103 or DL110).Thanks!
Sorry, I missed that you were looking at the 103, not the 301. I have not owned a 103. The 103 has lower compliance, and would do best on a heavy arm. I will now defer to anyone that has actually compared the 103 and 110.
I think the DL 110 would be a nice match, and would do Ace Cannon full justice. Nice to see a fellow Ace Cannon fan here. I like Ace Cannon. I also enjoy Floyd Cramer and James Last. Then again on the former two, I am from Eastern Tennessee, such music was in my DNA and listened to and enjoyed from young. I am also a Technics fanatic. Carry on and enjoy Vinyl. As a LOMC option better suited to your SL 1700, in Denon, the DL 301 is a recommended option.
I auditioned both before deciding on the DL110. The 103 sounded (to me) a little constipated with big orchestral works, the DL110 gives a little more space and "air" - to my ears anyway. And, being a high output MC you won't need an SUT with the 110.
Ok so i went to the place where i supposed to buy the DL110 luckily they have one installed in a REGA RP3 with CA 651P,WOW! this DL110 is bright sounding now i'am a bit confused is it just me or this cart is actually bright.
