Hitachi HT-350 won't start normaly.

Postby dalex111 » 24 Jul 2017 08:43

Hello.
Such a problem:
There is a turntable Hitachi HT-350.
The drive motor does not start when it is turned on. The disc makes 1/4 turn and stops. Starts only if run by hand. Next works properly.
If there are ideas I will be happy. Suggest what to do?
Thank you.

When you spin it by hand it frees up the binding, so it'll run fine until it sits an extended time, which makes me think the grease inside the motor has broken down. Get the service manual, open it up and clean & grease the motor to start.

I already changed the lubricant in the engine. The disk rotates easily. But this did not solve the problem.

I know, this topic is a bit older, but maybe any Help is still needed...

This problem seems to occur more often with the turntable. Over the past years, I've had seen so many offers at the famous auction side or the local classifieds with a similar problem description.

And even my HT-350 had the same problem some time ago. The platter needed a little nudge to run. After some measuring of the electrical components on the circuit boards, I came to the conclusion, that two capacitors were faulty. The "bad boys" were the C01 (22µF/10V) and the C02 (0,01µF/400V). After replacing those, the turntable worked normally again.

Thank you so very much!
I figured that some cap(s) could be a problem, but way... yeah, thank you for figuring it out! I am going to try this tonight.

All the blessings to you! [-o<
