An used Harmon Kardon T 60 for about 300$ without pickup, is that a fair price? Tell me what to look for if It has any weak points.

Do you have pics or any details on the turntable? Price seems high to me though I don't know what prices are like in your area. Awhile back I had a chance to buy one for just over $100 but it had a few minor issues so I passed.

If its fully functional and cosmetical in good shape its worth the price.
Although naturaly i would try to bargain. However have in mind that you
get no new table for that price that is even near the quality of the T60.
Its a q-locked belt drive with subchassis and good tonearm for high compliance
cartridges. If you plan to use MC`s its not the right table for that.

It is certainly one of the better fully-automatic belt drive turntables. Good tonearm, heavy platter, quartz speed control.

I recently worked on a T25, which is several steps lower than the T60; I thought it was surprisingly well made, with good quality materials and a thoughtful layout. I would therefore expect the T60 to be a very satisfying turntable.

In the United States, prices for the T60 typically range from $250 to $400 (US$), depending on condition and what kind of cartridge is included.

Thanks all. Its in a really good shape but but it needs a new pickup so there it is another $200.

I'll mayby buy a Rega planar 2 with upload package for better pickup and more. The Price $600.

New is New

Thanks all

I don't know what cart you have in mind, but you should be able to find something for less than $200 to start out with.

The basic cart on the Planar 2 is a cheapie, Rega's re-brand of a $20-25 cartridge.

I found a Thoren TD 160 for almost the same price, a bit cheper. It´s serviced and a new pickup Tenorel before selling. It's very old but in good condition. Maybe a good one to buy.

Yes, I would look into that. More long-term flexibility than the H/K.

Well, the TD160 has medium mass arm (~ 16gr.)and that fits better with
actual budget MMs and way more expensive MCs. It also has a effective
subchassis. The T-60 is built for top-MMs of the time, its technological
more advanced and more comfortable.

The tonearm on the 160 can also be upgraded if one desires. Can't do that with the H/K.
