JVC / Victor tonearm UA-7082

Postby riccardo » 11 Sep 2015 10:03

Hi, Riccardo from Italy, not new in this site, but new in "forum" section...
I have a question: I just obtained the aforementioned tonearm.
I'm asking if someone could provide a copy of mounting template (I already know that mounting distance is 270 mm) and instruction manual.
Thanks to everyone.

If the mounting distance is 270mm, you don't need a template. Just measure it. All a template does is make it easier to deal with the spindle, but divide the diameter of the spindle by two and butt a ruler up against the spindle. 270 minus half the spindle thickness is your mounting distance. Use a pin to go straight down from that point to the plinth.
Use a protractor to align the cartridge.

Is it not just the 12" version of the 7045? If so the manual for the 7045 should cover most sins.

https://www.vinylengine.com/library/jvc/ua-7045.shtml

As mentioned if you already know the mounting distance the rest should be easy. It is just a case of putting the correct sized mounting holes in the right place. I will say I have never used a template in my life and choose to use this method.

Notice it is mentioned on the tonearm database which also gives the null points required. 61mm and 108.6mm

To be honest I think with this information you must be most of the way there

Thank you very much, I have my tonearm already fitted from a long time, but I'm also a collector of paper material regarding all my hi-fi stuff (I already have that 7045 paperwork)...
