Hi guys!

So, this is my first post on this forum! I'm super excited about that! :D

Short about myself - I'm a 33yo musician from Åland Islands (Finland) and I've been playing guitar, singing, making electronic music for 17 years. I recently felt the urge to learn how to DJ on vinyl. So that's why I'm here

I just recently bought this turntable used and I'm not at all knowledgeable about any of this stuff. I played some vinyl when I was young but I was too young to care back then.

I realise that this TT is not anything special but I just want to know if it's worth hanging on to. It doesn't seem to speed up/down as I want to when I use the pitch-lever and it warbles (is that the term?) when I use the pitch lever it. Not always but sometimes. There's a Stanton 500 mkII cartridge on it atm. It seems to be worn because the music distorts a bit through my studio monitors when listening back.

I got this mixer "Gemini MX-2000" too for the price. I paid 100€ for the package.

If anyone knows anything more about this TT I'd be so thankful for any piece of information! The only thing I can find on it is that it's supposedly a Qtek DJ-2000D. But there's not much information on it online.

Thank you in advance! [-o<

Hmm, the arm is an SME Series IV, very high quality and price, so in the UK would be £900-2000 depending on age, condition etc. Turntable is a Roksan, again good quality, was maybe £500-1000 new so maybe £300-600 now if working and in good condition. These are just rough estimates; to give you an idea, based on what I have seen on eBay UK recently.

cheers,

Tim

Hmm not likely that someone would have a dad with a Roksan and an SME and not know anything about what it is and value...

Thanks... this is a Roksan X? Both condition I rate 8/10.

Will let her know... hopefully they get a buyer. Not easy to find one for Roksan in Singapore

My point was if dad is that level of audiophile kids normally understand at the very least what it is and very often share passion, for sure know value. So seemed an odd story..

This thread seemed to get bulldogged away from the original poster...anyone know anything about his turntable? I don't really understand the "DJ" thing, back cuing and all that...but turntable looks to me to be a Hanpin clone of some sort. Direct drive, good? Remote start/stop? Hmmm... Com'on, someone help our new Suomalainen friend

Hi Periphery

I'm not entirely sure, but the QTEK bit seems to be a type of DJ deck. The only place I can find the reference is on mercado libre, which is an Argentine Gumtree/Craigslist/ebay sort of site.

Under the heading "Bandeja qtek dj 2000d profesional", which according to Google, translates as "Professional qtek dj 2000d tray" are listed different DJ decks for sale from the usual suppliers, Pioneer, Sony etc.

The "tray" bit in the translation would more accurately be translated as "platter"

So I believe that the deck is made by a SE Asian manufacturer (made in Taiwan gave that away) by an unknown manufacturer, and the QTEK bit is a generic sort of description used in either Spanish speaking countries, of just Argentina.

Maybe either someone from Argentina or a Spanish speaker could enlighten us some more?

Can you take the top/bottom off and see if there are any more clues in there, and post a photo or two if possible?

Not a good pic at all, but could it be a Sony? Some model similar to the PS5110?

Silver knob on the left and the plinth remind me of a Thorens 160.
