Hi mosin, it seems the ReK-O-Kut i saw with onyx motor pod is a custom job, item No 290037684530 on Ebay, its an interesting range of decks they make, the rondine 3 looks nice, i see the early models have a very nice bearing, i hope the later decks hang on to that principle, also interesting is the different speeds available, i had no idea there were so many different speeds for vinyl.

Rotel RP-850 with Nagaoka MP11 cart + stylus..$5NZ which is about 15 pounds... 8) Replacement belt came from spares...

BUT if I added up all the money I have spent on various decks [and related bits and bobs] over the years I would have run up a debt of a small country :D

Original Teledyne/AR "The Turntable":

Bought in 1985 for about $330 USD.
Previos cartridge - B&O MMC-3 - about $125 USD
Recent Cartridge - used Shure V15-V-MR - $60 USD
Replaced Stylus - about $125 USD

Total currently invested - about $515 USD
Very pleased with the sound, may consider the M/S upgrades eventually.

Thanks :) It was a definite fluke find...I almost passed over it because it looked like a plastic fantastic...until I picked it up...

I got a complete disco-antistat record cleaning kit with 2 full bottles of cleaning fluid from the same place for the same price... 8) (these have been going for scary prices here in NZ new... )

I'd mention other bargins I have got over the years but I fear I wold get lynched ;)

Well I don't have anything really flash or exotic, however after about 60 mods it sounds really good as far as I'm concerned (and a few audio guys who've heard it) but it is cheap all up.

In OZ dollars

Old Pioneer PL (I think) 513X $25.oo
Cartridge bought from US on ebay old stock but no name $10.00
(the cart looks like rubbish but actually sounds better that any other cart I own and that includes 2 Shures, Cambridge P77, Audio Technica, and Stanton. I teach LP to CD classes and bought 10 of them to sell to my students with dud carts.
Cables (home grown) $6.00
Phono Amp (DIYed) $15.00
Feet (DIYed consisting of shot glasses filled with water, squash balls and cedar bases with ball bearing feet) $20.00
Sandstone Slab $12.00
Glues, timber, bluetac, non slip rubber matting, cork, lead wheel weights for damping outer ring of platter etc $35.00

Total Cost $133.00 Oz or about 40 pounds

Please note that lots of bits were recyled from stuff I had in the shed, such as timber and screws etc.

Total music effect -Priceless, easily the best TT I have ever had and I think that totals about 15

Future mods, I ll probably replace the 240V Ac motor with a DC stepper from a floppy drive or similar, though the AC one seems more than OK with all the mods I have made to damp it.

Hi, new to the Forum, but here goes:- Pink Triangle-Little Pink Thing, Rega RB 250, with Origin Live structural upgrade, and Silver Litz internal rewire, Grado Prestige Gold all bought as a package on Ebay £330. I have just sold the Grado on Ebay for £51, and bought a brand new,old stock Empire EDR9 , for £46 inc. p&p from a company in France, still running in but it sounds superb.I am thinking about sending the arm back to Origin Live for the slotted armtuge upgrade, and the external rewire, also may buy a clamp or puck of somekind, any thoughts or recommendations?
