There were two posted on the first page of this thread, a Troika and a K9.

It does seem like people like to "branch out" when it comes to cartridges for their Linns. =D>

Audio Technical AT95E as a stop gap between something better, but the little AT never fails to surprise me for what is a budget marvel.
Can anyone recommend a cartridge for an Ittok LVll? Do Ortofons suit?

I am running an Ortofon X5-MC at this time. I'm surprised it still works, but it looks and sounds great. These cartridges are not the greatest trackers, but tracking isn't usually an issue for typically real tracks if the cartridge is set up right. The only place I notice mistracking is on test records.

This cartridge is a high output moving coil with a Fritz Geiger cut diamond. It is very capable of extracting information from grooves.

I am thinking about my next cartridge though... its interesting to see what others are using.

I recently acquired a new Linn Krystal.

I am enjoying the running in stage. I'm only 10 hours into it.

So far, so good.

This is my first 3 screw cartridge coupled with a 3 screw headshell (Linn Ekos SE arm).

The cartridge body is threaded, so there are no nuts to mess with. And since there are 3 mounting screws, the positioning is perfect without the usual fiddling.

These niceties will make the cartridge if the sound is as hoped. So far I'm impressed.

I am running it into 250 ohms. I tried 100, 250, and 470 on my Krell KSP-7B preamp.

100 was too dull. 470 was too bright. YMMV.

Linn recommend 50 to 200 ohms. Perhaps I would like 200, it I don't have it available to try.

Ariston RD11s, SME 3009 S2 Improved (detachable shell). All original so far. Last week I mounted a Grado Reference Sonata 1 and now that it is breaking in it sounds wonderful, certainly a great match to the arm. One of these days before long I'm going to get into the table, reinforce the sub-chassis and do some suspension mods. Still, it sounds rather lovely as it sits.

I acquired a minty AudioTechnica AT14Sa. I tried it on my Oracle Alex/Sumiko MMT (no damping oil) and had some cheap thrills before it became annoyingly bright. I moved it to my Linn Basik/LVX combo in the TV room and it sound just right due in large part to the warm PSB Imagine XBs. I haven't had time to compare it head-to-head with the Shure V15RS with MR stylus that usually occupies that space yet, though.

RD11 with a Manticore Musician and an Ortofon Quintet Blue, Sounds delicious with all kinds of music. Dark, detailed, great soundtsage and lovely bass. My favourite TT at the moment.

RD11s with a Mission 774 Original and an Audio Technica AT31E. Very detailed and neutral sounding to be honest but a very nice combination as the Mission keeps the AT from sounding too dry and sterile.

RD80sl (modded) with a Syrinx LE1 and a Nagaoka MP20. Nagaoka's are my all time favourite MM carts. They track well, have very little or no surface noise, lots of detail but they are at their best (IMHO) for rock, soul or anything needing rhythm and bass grunt.

RD110 soon to have a Logic Datum 1 and probably an Empire MC-5M with NOS stylus.

Also in the pipeline is an Ariston RD90 Superieur due for a plinth rebuild which involves mounting the power supply and pots / switch completely off board after which it will get another Mission 774 Original with a Denon DL304, which I know makes a superb combination.

And then when that's done I have another RD11s that had the right hand side of the top plate cut off so it looks like an LP12. I'm going to stick it in a Linn fluted plinth and add a Logic Datum 2 with a Benz Micro ACE SH which I had rebuilt a few years ago. Again this is a superb combination.

I came into a bit of money a little while ago and decided to realise a long held Hifi geek fantasy and gather together a stable of Aristons best TT's from their heyday.

I also decided to get the complete evolution of arms from a Syrinx LE1 through to Manticore Musician and mount them on my Ariston's. The latter is a fabulous arm.

Nice to see you are still at the TT rebuilds Bubba. Great stuff as per usual from you.
