Motor Database

Post by JaS » 31 Aug 2005 19:54

With all the recent talk of finding replacement motors, I thought its about time I started putting together a cross reference page for common turntable motors. I've already put up the specification sheets for two Premotec motors in the library (more needed please!), now I just need to know which decks use what type? So next time you have the bottom cover of your deck, scribble down the numbers on the motor (and the value of the phase shift capacitor if possible) and post them here :wink:

Heres what we have so far:

I have just got a motor from a Pink Triangle PT1/2 via Ebay, same as the Systemdek 11X (early) except mine is an Airpax.

Thanks for that. Keep them coming everyone, even if just to confirm the above. I'll add any additions to the first post as and when they come.

The motor capacitor ratings for motors that use them (syncronous and some others) would be good to have also.

Thanks Euclid,
I'm planning on adding capacitor values and other specs such as winding resistance / current rating, I just haven't had time to check the ones I have yet. Still, its early days :wink:

MOTOR - A/R "the TURNTABLE"

Post by gleichnerr » 14 Sep 2005 16:56

Got this straight off of my motor (not from Spec. sheets):

This is for "The AR Turntable" (no "model number")
[this was made by teledyne in 1985, before the EB-101 and after the XB]

MFGR = Hurst, Princeton, IND
Model = A
115V
60 Hz
3 Watts

P/N = 3001-001

It does not say this anywhere, but the spec sheets state that it is a 24-pole synchronous motor.

Carry on

This turntable looks barely used, yet the motor doesn't work. It heats up but doesn't spin. Is it burnt out? Is there any way to revive it? Or is there another motor that I might be able to replace it with?
Thanks

Hello rkay5,

On one of my TD150, the motor is out of order, and I will replace it by a motor of 146, a 16V AC like you. But I have just the motor and I don't know how to connect it. Could you tell me how it is plugged in your turntable if you have the same ?

Thanks

Pascal

Rek-O-Kut Rondine B-12

Here's what's on the motor>

Volts - 115
Cycles - 50/60
Amps - .25
High impedance protected
Model - 5101

It appears to have a 1/4 inch motor shaft, but I haven't measured it to verify.

Dave :)
