New in my collection!! Technics SL-3 linear automatic record player. This is my first linear and I really like it. The only issue is that the tonearm landing too hard on the record surface. Is there any adjustment for this??

I have 8 turntables, 5 of which are in-use. All are fully functional except one. The NIVICO is on the shelf awaiting it's turn in the shop.

Here they are, in order of acquisition:

Audio-Technica LP120 USB (Audio-Technica AT440MLb)
Dual 621 (Ortofon OM40 Super)
Philips AF-677 (Ortofon 2M Blue mounted on modified headshell)
Dual 621 (Shure V15 type IV w/EVG elliptical stylus)
Pioneer PL-71 (Shure V15 type IV)
Philips GA-427 (Shure M91e)
NIVICO SRC 700U (not functioning yet, but has a Pickering V15/ATE2)
Philips GA-427 (Audio-Technica PRO91e w/JICO stylus)

I have one now, I had two in the late '70's early '80's. The first one was a BIC, don't remember the model. They were made in Westbury, NY where I grew up.

Then in '81 I think, is when I bought the Technics SL-D202 which I still have and just started using again. Today I replaced the cartridge from an Ortofon VMS 3E with 2M Red.

The 2M Red seems to be a little brighter than the old VMS 3E.

I polished out almost all of the scratches in the dust cover. The cover no longer is able to flip up/down due to the plastic tabs being broken.

The 2M Blue is worlds apart from the Red. I got the Blue first, then the Red for another deck. I don't even use it now. Really... I don't know why everyone raves about the Red.

May I ask, what did you use to polish the dustcover?

MEGUIAR'S HEAVY DUTY HEADLIGHT RESTORATION KIT This has worked wonders for me. I have now taken the liquid they sell and found fine wet sand paper that workes and is much less expensive, but the liquid product that Miguira sells for headlight restoration is my go to for dust covers that are lightly scratched...
