Your listening environment looks warm and cozy. I love it. And, it appears you're set to stay warm for awhile with what looks like a weeks worth of firewood. Where in the heck do you live? Must be pretty cold there right now.

I notice you have one of "those" Sony receivers. Not many people have them (I have one from that series but it's not in use - STR 6800SD)
I would leave more room for ventilation above the receiver, it's very little now!!
Yes I agree about the ventilation. Fortunately, this is a very temporary solution until I've managed to build a new corner unit.

The receiver is actually the STR-6800SD that you have. I love it, plenty of power, the build quality is absolutely fantastic, (built like a tank) and of course it looks lovely at night when the lights come alive. It powers my Spendor BC1's very well, at the moment its playing London Town by Wings. I have been thinking about replacing it of late with a tube setup, by right now its half past midnight and its absolutely singing.

Its not too cold, more mildly cold, wet and miserable, as it frequently is in South Wales. The fire chases away the rain blues...

It is a very cosy listening room.

2 listening areas---one tube McIntosh gear, Eat TT, and Node 2I; and the other has older vintage Mc and a Pioneeer tt for when I want to laze about the computer.

Just curious, but what is that 4-drawer file cabinet in the pic? It looks like you could almost fit records in there, similar to this thing I saw on Craigslist a few years back that you CAN fit records in...

It is exactly what it is--a cheap file cabinet from office max. It would never hold anything heavy such as records.

Wow so it's been about 10 years since I posted in this thread and my life has changed a lot. I've got my own house now and a room dedicated to my records and audio stuff. The room is a little messy right now since I've been cleaning and flattening records recently and the cable management on the TV could be better but it's still a cozy escape from the world.

I love your room, everything about it. If the wires to TV concern you, just route AC behind drywall to a new outlet behind TV and connect a Firestick and digital antenna to TV's rear inputs.

I'm in awe, Damien... As a fan of mid-century modern design, you've got to tell me about EVERYTHING in that room! I love that you're able to fit the old console televisions in there, too! What a fabulous set-up! =D>

What are those speakers and where'd ya get those stands? Also, what about your other gear and is that a Garrard 4HF I spy in the corner? :-k

I love the mix of old and new, too! 8) =D>

On my cave...
Speakers are in 1/3 position in the room.
