Hello Everyone,

New to the forum...I'm digging it so far.

Some extraordinary rooms and gear on display. Kudos to all.

Here's my Listening room/Dining room/Home Office/Dance Floor

All of these rooms are neat, but they are giving me gear envy that I cannot afford.🤣🤣🤣🤣
Gives me something to aspire to, though!😁

Nice to see your KED 101s.
I used to work for a KEF dealer and bought two pairs of them.
I later sold one pair, but still use the others regularly.
They seem to be quite rare. The similar LS3/5A is far more common.
I have discovered that the foam surrounding the tweeter gas turned to dust and needs to be replaced. The speakers will play just fine without it, but the foam is important for controlling high frequency dispersion, which was a key design attribute of several KEF speakers, especially the 101s.
So I'm looking around for appropriate replacement material.
I also use a parametric EQ to boost the deep bass. The speakers can dig surprisingly deep despite their small size.

lol i was kidding sorta....I actually do enjoy techmoan video but I often do not agree with his conclusions... case in point: CED Selectavision episode. I think he risks drawing conclusions based on a very brief 'living with' period. Which is fine, after all he's in the business of regularly producing videos. But some vintage technology requires a deft approach when 'reviewing' and impacting that technology or brand's proper legacy.
CED's are notoriously quirky- but as someone who had a large collection and lived with them for a number of years, I discoverd that they have much to love. If the player and stylus and discs (sounds like vinyl LP right? lol) are in excellent condition- CED's can provide a startlingly good and unique picture quality. The stereo CED's also sound unique and very good- a difficult thing to fully explain here in words. There is also the issue that taking screenshots of paused CED's do not do them justice--they seem to look best in motion and very film like. You can read more about CED via my blog here:
https://www.thesilo.ca/ced-videodiscs-m ... records-2/
I think techmoan is a decent fellow with a good sense of humor and has his audiophile heart generally in the right place but he's no shango066 (check out his youtube channel for slick dry humor and Dr Frankensteinesque tv re-animations)

Hi Gravitar, not a fan of techmoan then? I suppose it's his amateur fix and make do's that makes me smile as they are not far off my skill set. He has some nice vintage hi fi too.
