Love Turntable

Just saw this for the first time. Looks like major BS to me, and a totally failed concept. Claims no weight on grooves, which, of course, is totally impossible. Girl looks fine. Apparently goes back a few years. Comments?

Not sure what you are referencing. So hard to comment.

The only TT that places no weight on the groove is the ELP laser TT. It uses a laser to track the groove and retrieve the signal from an LP.

A turntable without a needle is not a turntable!

I wonder how much effect a dirty record will have on the reproduction.

Hello,

It says there is no weight on the grooves except for the stylus. It is a confusing way to say the device does not come into contact with the record surface, only the label area. I guess some might think the thing touches the playing surface as it revolves around it.

It might look cool to those who are easily impressed, but does not improve on anything that plays records already in existence. The specs are Crosley territory.

Mike.

Strictly speaking, the cartridge on the end of the tonearm is where the "needle" is. You can buy TT's with no tonearm. Does that make them something other than a TT?

The ELP TT turns an LP on top of a flat surface. Why is it not a TT?

ELP used to include a vacuum RCM as part of the purchase price.

"Uncompressed, Non-Digitized, Pure Analog Audio & No Physical Contact"

Is that code for dull and no fun?

The Love turntable is too much needless gadgetry, too little performance, and too poor quality reproduction. In short, Crosley Cruiser class vinyl playback. Unacceptable! Fail!!

Unfortunate name for something which looks as it should be stored in a bedside cabinet.

They will probably sell quite a few, it needs little intelligence to be used and fits in a nano home.

Also note this appears to be years old. Did this ever get off the ground? No, I have no personal interest...just curiosity. It seems like a fool's journey.

Now I have this special treatment for perfect vinyl playback. It involves a new type of advanced eye surgery, after which you stare intently at the record grooves, and you then hear the music perfectly and clearly in your head. =P~ =D>

It’s probably a big improvement on the Soundwagon, and if it can achieve anything close to a constant playback speed it will be an impressive technical achievement. But it looks like a parody of a turntable to me.

If you look closely there is an Audio Technica cartridge in there.

"LOVE plays vinyl the traditional way, with a stylus, with the crackles and pops, with that rich, warm analog sound that bring each song to life."

Where do youse guys get the idea of "no weight" with this toy? It's a gimmick - who cares.
