TEAC TN-400S and 750g record weight

Post by KS68 » 25 Jun 2019 04:45

Too heavy for this turntable? My other option is 280g, which seems to me rather light. I asked the seller and they said they were unfamiliar with this particular model, and so didn’t have an answer for me. Thoughts appreciated. Thank you!

750g is an overkill, especially on the tn400.

First. Look for a glass cup in your house. The heaviest you can find. Use it as a puck, and check with a strobe light if the motor can handle the extra weight.

Hmmm, the TN doesn’t have a platter like that. How else could I do this? I believe there are mats that can be used?

Print this:

And then use the light on the extension cable switch to check for speed:
