Ariston RD80, lubricating the motor

Post by DIW » 22 May 2019 23:16

Hi

This is my first post.

I've had an Ariston RD80 since 1987.

Ina post the other day I noticed someone suggesting that the RD80's motor needs an occasional lube. My question, how do you get at the motor to lube it? I can't see how to access the inner case. Or is it just a matter of somehow removing the belt pulley to expose the spindle of the motor?

Put a drop of oil on the end of a small screwdriver, reach under the pulley, and touch the motor shaft. The oil will run down into the top bearing of the motor.

Cheers,
Alec
