Ittok without an armrest

Post by Armbored » 20 May 2019 21:24

I've just fitted an Ittok to my turntable, it sounds good. As you may know, the Ittok does not have an integral rest. Now, I don't want to drill a hole in the top plate for the standard rest as I like to swap arms around and compare, so I don't want to be left with a hole. Does anyone have an elegant solution for this type of problem?

You can make something, eg. a cylinder with a curve in the top for the arm to rest on. Hollow a bit from the bottom to hold some blu-tack. Having the recess will allow the blu-tak to hold and the rest to sit on the plinth surface. Don't fill the recess with blu-tak, so there is room for it to squash so the cylinder will sit flush. The cylinder will need to be a reasonable diameter, eg. 1cm, but that should fit the look of the arm. Paint it black to match.
