1 Thorens td321 with Morch up4 arm, to be repaired
1 Roksan V mk. 1 with 9" Jelco arm and Clearaudio Performer v2 and Clearaudio Maestro v2.
I need to find a DD with 78 rpm.

Wow, seeing lists of 6+ turntables is aspirational. I currently own zero! I'm a lurker with a serious research problem. :D

I only have three turntables, but am looking to get rid of one of them. Only two of them I use.
Audiotechnica AT LP 120
Emerson Wildcat portable changer
Crosley cruiser (please no flames!! At the time I got this I was just getting into vinyl.)
Why flame you? I have 2 Audio Technica LP120XUSB and think they sound just fine.
I want to change out the mats, but really that's about it right now. 8)
I use them to host vinyl nights at a local venue.

Also have a Technics SL-B200 I use at home.

So 3, until I get another jukebox to house the 45's. LOL

I ment for the crosley one. I love my audiotechnica. Am looking to get a Dual 1229 and get rid of my Emerson changer.

Ah, gotcha. During my research I didn't hear too many good things
about the Crosley ones. Sounds like the OP is itching to get started.

Quick and dirty set up when they arrived. LOL

Forgot to add I have a couple of ODYUSA cases on the way...

Eather a Dual 1229, or a Dual 1019. But seeing as the latter Dual's are the more saught after tables, I'd be okay with a 1229.

It will come, Mrs. RV, but remember, patience is a virtue! And when you see one at the right price, you must act fast! :-k

By the way, have you been to Action Electronics yet? It might be worth checking out their inventory of used stereo equipment and asking around... :-k

I have two. I have a Denon DP 3000 mounted in a solid wood Target end table with an SME 3009 Type II Improved tonearm with a fixed head shell. And I have a SOTA Sapphire, in the factory plinth, with a 1960s vintage Grace tonearm. Both have Denon DL-103 cartridges. Both were setup by me, using my original aluminum version Dennesen Geometric Soundtracktor.

Five.

Technics SL-QD33 - worked perfectly when I got it. I just installed a Grado blue and it has a very lovely sound.

Onkyo PL-25F - I did the standard grease cleanup and tone arm belt replacement to get it running again. I installed a new AT Series V upgraded by LP Gear and it’s sounding good. This may turn into a gift as I know someone who would appreciate the linear design.

Pioneer PL-750 - Worked fine when it arrived, and the quartz speed control measures as very consistent with my cheap measuring tools, even more consistent than the Technics which surprised me. It came with a MC cartridge and I plan to replace it. An Ortofon 2M Red is ready to replace it. FYI LP Gear sells these at a good discount when they upgrade a manufacturers turntable for a customer which came with the 2M Red standard. It’s essentially new, having never played a record.

Pioneer PL-S40 - Not working yet. The platter spins faster then slower on each revolution. I haven’t opened it up yet but it’s as if there’s something rubbing on each revolution.

Elac Miracord 40C - Arrived today and still in the box since I was still busy with the Onkyo. My goal is to make this a 78 player.

Question: I invariably end up with more spent on cartridges than turntables. Is that a common experience? I am finding reliable workhorse turntables are not very expensive but upgrading cartridges can quickly add up.

Yes, absolutely, but getting the turntables are half the battle...The cartridges and styli can be pricey, but a little research will yield some "diamonds in the rough" that go for peanuts! I trust Gary@thevoiceofmusic.com for all my stylus needs, by the way...That Elac 40c is nice! I have the 40a and it's a great little turntable...It came with a Realistic version of a Shure cartridge, but Gary hooked me right up with the proper styli and he's never steered me wrong...I got a stylus for the albums and 45's and one for the 78's! Those Realistic Shures and some of the lesser-known AT carts could be surprises, as is the venerable AT3600L we keep talking about here...I also showed a pic of that Onkyo in my "Unique Turntable" thread...

What's the deal with all that "high sensitivity" stuff anyway? :-k

Anyway, there are some more doozies here, if you want to check it out! :D

Lots of interesting turntables there, but with your five, you haven't done too bad! =D>

Some excuses to own too much turntables ...
1 Revox 790 in perfect shape (from a Swiss collector of the brand) = I must HAVE a tangential.
2 Thorens: a pre-historic TD 135 and a TD 165 = you cant't be wrong with thorenses.
1 Linn LP12 / Akito arms = nobody can miss that bargain, it was perfect below a Planar2 tag price.
2 Rega planar2, exactly 1 and half (the first was armless) = I'm a tweaker, I need a basis to work.
1 Denon DP 900m with Denon shell and Denon cartridge = no excuses for it.
1 Luxman PD375 = I wanna see how an air-pump can affect sound.
1 Micro Seiki DD24 completely reconstructed = I can't resist to an olive-root-hand-polished plinth.
