A common problem.
Lift the platter with one hand, and tap the spindle with the plastic handle of a screwdriver.

Cheers,

The one in the pictures, I don’t know much about it . My budget it’s flexible. It’s my first turntable so I want something that let me enjoy it but not paying an arm and leg.
Thanks !

Hi, That's a Stanton cartridge and there are plenty of aftermarket styi available for various prices. Just google the model number on the side of the stylus and a bunch of sites that sell styli will come up. IMO the problem with the aftermarket styi is that 1- they sound like crap and 2- because of the cheap synthetic brush that's mounted to the front of the stylus it's very hard to get the tracking force set. And the stylus likes to slide in to the first groove of a record also because of that cheap brush. If you go with a Stanton aftermarket stylus then you can remove the brush if you find it a problem. But for the same price you could buy and Audio Technica AT 3600 cartridge to replace the Stanton. Check out ebay for these they are usually less then $20.00 for the cartridge, stylus, mounting hardware. I just bought 4 of them from China to use on various turntables that I plan on selling in the next couple of months. Don't be fooled by the price of these cartridges they do sound very nice and track well. You can easily upgraded the stylus down the line when you have the cash to do so. And it will work very nicely on this Yamaha tonearm. I hope this helps.

Thanks so much for your advice . I’m gonna go for the Audio Technica first and then make the upgrade.
