Rek O Kut headshell - replacement pin connectors

Post by empireboy » 19 Feb 2019 07:19

I have a loose connector pin (spring loaded) on a vintage Rek O Kut headshell.

Are replacements available?

I examined it and it appears to be a brass tube, with some smaller copper wire inserted. A spring is slid over the smaller diameter section.

It appears the factory just compressed the tip to lock it in place once it was slid through the plastic housing.

That crimped end can fail over time and the pieces fall out as there is nothing to hold them in.

So, having said all that, has anyone determined the parts needed or is there a readily available solution?

I hope you can find a solution to the problem since others have it also.

They are apparently called "spring-loaded pogo pin" connectors. Perhaps there is an entity that still makes them? Or perhaps we can scan an intact pogo pin and 3D print them?
